As temperatures climb in New England, we welcome the invigorating chill of iced coffee beverages at our events. As summer sets in, our baristas will be tossing around terms like “iced,” “furiously frozen,” and “tropical” as they whip up drinks for your event guests! In this post we’ll delve into iced coffee beverages! For starters, we’ll talk about our latest additions to our summer event catering menu. Then we’ll explore eco-friendly ways to savor cold coffee brews at home.

Iced Coffee Beverages Season: Our Summer Menu for Sunny Days Ahead!

We’re thrilled to introduce our summer menu at Espresso Dave’s Coffee Catering, perfect for any event. Here’s a sneak peek at what you can look forward to when you see our shiny espresso cart from across the room at an event near you:

  • Iced Coconut Latte  Made with our signature espresso, creamy milk, and sweet coconut syrup, served over ice for a tropical twist.
  • Frozen Mochaccino  A vigorously whipped, icy-smooth blend of espresso, chocolate, and milk, ideal for a cooling treat.
  • Affogato  A classic coffee dessert featuring a shot of hot espresso poured over vanilla ice cream or gelato, creating a delightful contrast of hot and cold.

We serve all our signature menu items over ice as well, ensuring there’s something refreshing for everyone. Get these delicious drinks and more for your next catered event with Espresso Dave.

While we love serving you at your events, we also want to help you enjoy iced coffee beverages sustainably at home. Here are some fun and eco-friendly ways to jazz up your cold coffee concoctions:

Missed Strawportunities: Switching to a Reusable Straw

Nothing beats the first iced coffee of the season on a warm spring day. It can be tempting to reach for a plastic straw when ordering at the counter or buying a box of straws for at-home iced brews. But you can easily cut down on waste by making the switch to a reusable straw! You can find all sorts of alternatives, but I’ve commonly seen stainless steel, glass, and bamboo options. Not to mention, they can add a fun touch to your drink. Some people have even tried using pasta straws to reduce waste. Each option has its own advantages and disadvantages, so it mainly comes down to personal preference when picking what’s right for you.

Turn Your Glass Jars into Iced Beverage Vessel

You can find a quick and easy “travel mug” for both hot and iced coffee beverages in the recycling bin; not to mention, they pair well with a reusable straw. Glass jars from recent events like last week’s Taco Tuesday Salsapalooza, or leftover peanut butter jars, make excellent vessels for your java juice on the go. They’re perfect for transporting your cold brew with ease. However, one downside is that glass jars lack the insulative properties of a Yeti or the infamous Stanley Cup, but they work well in a pinch.

Pro tip: see which ones fit in your car’s cup holder for increased convenience! Start collecting your jars today so next time you have a backyard bash there’s enough jars-turned-beverage-vessels to go around. Additionally, while you’re planning that bash, call us! We’re happy to serve up caffeinated cheer in your glass jar collection!

Ice, Ice, Baby: Say Goodbye to Watered-Down Drinks

Did you let your iced coffee sit in the car a little too long? Consequently, chances are it’s going to be a bit more watered down than before and not quite as enjoyable. Have I got an idea for you! All you need is an ice cube tray and some of your favorite coffee. Simply pour the coffee into the ice cube tray, pop it in the freezer, and voilà: you have frozen coffee cubes for tomorrow’s iced coffee. No more watered-down iced coffee beverages. This idea works for those who use milk or creamer as well. Freeze your milk or creamer in the ice cube tray, and you’ll have single servings ready to go.

Here’s to the endless possibilities of iced beverages this summer season! Embrace the warm weather with our delightful summer menu at your next catered event with Espresso Dave! We hope you enjoy your cold drinks at home sustainably. Cheers!
